Week 24… 6 months in! Motivation is back!

I know last week I was complaining about not being able to find my motivation but I think I found out after I had a solid workout for once.

This past week I went to the gym on Monday…Tuesday…Wednesday…Friday and Sunday. The past 4 previous workout sessions during the week were just boring and plain. I seemed to just be going through the motions. Sunday’s workout was different.

I went to the gym on Sunday after watching football. I really had a good session. I felt great doing it and then strong after i finished. I remembered how well it felt to push myself hard. Really got a great sweat going. That is what i needed to get my motor running again.

I can’t believe it took me this long to get back on track. I know that my skin cancer sidelined me for a few weeks, but I’m a survivor so upward and onward I go.

I already have started planning how I’m going to attack this week and plan on seeing a difference on the scale this upcoming Saturday. I can’t wait!

Week 10… 2 Weeks Soda Free!!!

I know I know… I should have done that before…8 weeks ago but what can I say? I was an addict. Mountain Dew was my down fall. I loved it! It would be my version of coffee. I had to have it in the morning and then again at 2:30pm. 

This has proven to be a game changer for me. This definitely propelled me into a very successful week. 

I have yet to start any weight or strength training yet due to the holiday but I’m thinking of stepping it up tomorrow. There is a park near my house that has obstacles at it so you can run a few feet and then do ten pull ups. My goal tomorrow will be to start it and see how many I can do at each station. I plan on doing three rounds and then running a mile. 

I want to do this at least twice a week. I think Tuesday’s and Thursday’s to start. I’ll keep you posted if I succeed or not on my plan. I feel like if I write it down and publicize it, I’ll keep the momentum.

Week 8… I’m on a Roll! 

I’m so excited for the past week and looking forward to the week ahead. I crossed over an important threshold this past week. I finally broke into the 180s. I haven’t been there in awhile and I’m very excited. 

As June is coming to an end, I’ll be starting strength training. This will be good for me to start. I’m going to be focusing on my upper body. I will be focusing on this because like I mentioned previously I want to start training for American Ninja Warrior. This is exciting. 

I’m going to be starting this one day a week. As I start to feel comfortable then I’ll add a second day along with Abs. As the weight continues to shed off, then my abs will be on point. 

I’m so exited! 

This week I’m on vacation, but this post was in important that I had to share it.

Ninja Warrior Update! 

Ok it’s been 30 days since I’ve really started focusing on my weightloss goal and training. I’m am proud to say that I’m done 5lbs in the month and a total loss of 10 lbs since June 1st. 

Now that a new month is upon us I’m going to start to intensify my weekly routines by adding in an extra hour in the mornings. I originally was going to do that in July but it wasn’t quite the time. Now that my first goal is reached, onto the next 5lb goal!  

I really hope that before my bowling league starts at the end of the month I’m down 15lbs.

Ninja Warrior Training…. Activated! 

So after watching a recent episode of NBC’s America Ninja Warrior it occurred to me that I should start focusing my weightloss goals on that. As I have been struggling with my focus and not seeing any major improvements I decided it was time to kick it into high gear. 

There is a park near my house that has a fitness trail program. There are 14 stations dedicated to helping you improve your strength along with cardio conditioning. Some of the stations are chin up bar, sit ups, balance beam and body curls. Tuesday was my first attempt at these stations. I have to admit I wasn’t impressed with my efforts and I know that I shouldn’t have expected to be awesome out of the gate considering I’m 30lbs over weight. 

I did the circuit 3 times within an hour. This was good for me. I’m planning on attempting this again at least 2-3 times  a week.  Once the pounds start shedding off I know that I will get better. 

Also the stations are spread out around the park connected by the trail. You are suppose to jog to each station. If you complete the loop then you have jogged almost a full mile. 

The first take it took me a little over an hour to complete three rounds. I’m hoping this time improves over the upcoming weeks. 

Along with a morning routine which now consists of getting up everyday at 5:30am, I’m doing an evening after work as well. I’m starting to add strength training into my normal cardio routine. I know that just cardio and a good diet isn’t going to cut it. 

Well I’m off the train some more!
